Nursery Wall Ideas for Above the Crib

Often times in a baby nursery space, we want the wall that the crib is on to be the focal point.  But how do you tie it all together?  A great way to spruce up a baby nursery is by adding something above the crib.  In the picture below they added a very simple tree mural silhouette which frames the crib and creates a really nice balance in the room.

You can also add a scene above the crib like this mural with a distant landscape and large flowers in the forefront.  So beautiful!

This last one is another great nursery decor idea for above the crib.  They added fun postcards to the wall with poster gum.  Love the perfect spacing between them.  My only concern is that when the baby is old enough to reach that they will pull them down.  LOL

Do you have any neat decor or mural ideas for above the crib?  We would love hear them!  Leave us a comment below!

I just completed my baby boy’s nursery and boy did I have a hard time selecting a theme. Selecting the color was no problem. We wanted a blue base, but not a dull blue. I spent hours searching for wall decals and stickers that were appropriate for a boy, but there wasn’t much to choose from! I finally found some variety on a website, where I had some options to choose from. Not to mention the stickers fit right into my budget!! Now my boy’s nursery looks so cute with train stickers :)

I think that is great Laura. Sometimes wall stickers are the way to go. Handpainted wall murals can be very expensive. I would love to see a picture of your son’s nursery with the stickers! Maybe I can do a feature on you! Feel free to email me directly at
